Well, Teddy Bridgewater is rated an 82 overall, which puts him in a tie as the team's 12th-highest rated player, along with guard Brandon Fusco and defensive end Brian Robison. That gives him the same rating as cornerback Xavier Rhodes and makes him one of the Vikings' top ten overall players. One of the bigger surprises is Smith's counterpart at safety, Robert Blanton, who is rated an 86 overall. Just behind him is Harrison Smith, who at 93 is a top-five safety in Madden NFL '16. Unless I've just been fortunate, a major legacy issue has finally been addressed. Well, that doesn't happen very often in Madden 16-at least not that I've seen in just about a week of gameplay. Suddenly, like magic, your player is vacuumed into the block. There's an offensive lineman in the vicinity, but he's not quite close enough to block you. For the ones who don't, here's a quick explanation: You're controlling a defensive player and you have a ball-carrier line up for a tackle. Just about anyone who has played Madden for years knows exactly what I'm referring to. You can even record half-sacks and tackles. In Madden 16, multiple defenders can take down a ball-carrier, and it looks natural. As a matter of fact, the only football game that had any semblance of it was the somewhat lifeless Backbreaker game released in 2009. We've never seen realistic gang-tackling in a Madden game until now. All of this goes a long way toward creating a realistic virtual football environment. Finally, there's a noticeable increase in the amount of players who had their faces scanned.
